League of Legends Patch 8.1 of the year is here, and it does consist of a few buffs and nerfs to be aware of although it’s relatively light when it comes to changes. Changes in Patch 8.1 that needs to be rolling out quickly shouldn’t come to the maximum amount of-of a surprise since they’ve been on the PBE for a time now after being locked in before the holidays. Because of the timing, while many associated with the more contested champions like Ornn yet others will be looked at in Patch 8.2, this patch that next includes many changes for champions like the blacksmith and others. Zoe does have tweaks which can be few on the spot, though they’re probably not the nerfs that players have been calling for.

One of the primary complaints from Challenger players in 2017 had not been being able to duo queue with one another for ranked gameplay. That will not be an issue this present year, however, because this week’s Patch 8.1 allows Challenger players to duo queue for the 2018 ranked season, in line with the patch that is formal.

It is happening, it’s finally right here. After what has appeared like eons (OK, it is been like three days), the tundra that is patchless over. It’s time for season 8, everybody gets excited. A brand new season means new champions, brand new items, new changes, new balance and a year that is ranked. It’s that point of again 12 months. The season that is rated finally, nearly, upon us. The 2018 ranked season shall begin on Jan. 16. This year’s ranked season doesn’t bring with it changes that are many except that Challenger players can now duo queue together. Other than that, it’s the same system that is ranked recognize and love back for 2018.

2.ZOE IS GETTING A FEW MORE NERFS

Zoe’s alterations in Patch 7.24 may slightly have nerfed her, nevertheless, they didn’t make her much less frustrating to try out against. In fact, she still gets the ban rate that is highest of any champ on the patch. Thankfully, Riot heard our solo queue cries and is taking another pass at some of Zoe’s more characteristics that are irritating.

The modification that is biggest is her Sleepy difficulty Bubble will now take only a little longer to turn into a trap once it strikes the bottom. Meanwhile, her Paddle Star, Portal Jump combination is also finding a small easier for enemies to see and anticipate. These changes should help easier make Zoe’s abilities to dodge all together and hopefully make her somewhat less irritating to face in-game.

3.THE HONOR SYSTEM IS GETTING A SLIGHT REWORK

The honor system was maybe not great whenever it launched. It’s nevertheless not great if we’re being completely honest. Well, Riot agrees and the developers are making some modifications which are big the system in 2018. There is now a checkpoint system, which will tell you how close you are to your honor that is next level. Even better, you get guaranteed rewards the further as you go. All of this should work together to make honor feel tangible and meaningful, instead of just random. Check out this post for more information.

4.BUGS ARE GETTING WASHED UP TO START THE GROWING SEASON

This preseason was pretty buggy, and with all the current noticeable modifications which were made, who’s surprised? With that in mind, Riot is going for a look at the insects they know about and care that is using a huge list of them to kick down 2018. Patch 8.1 details not only a lot of the bugs from champions, but also runes and skins everyone that is giving clean, or mostly clean, the path forward to start out their 2018 ranked journeys.

5.JAX IS FINALLY GETTING A REAL WEAPON

Jax has a few of the most lore that is fun League … stay with me personally here, this’ll get relevant. Basically, Jax is indeed good if he had a genuine weapon that he would simply kill everybody instantly. Himself a challenge so he uses a lamp instead, to offer. You’ve started using it in the event that you’ve seen One Punch Man. Anyway, Jax’s skin that is newest, God Staff Jax, follows closely in the design footsteps of its cousin, God Fist Lee Sin. Basically, it returns Jax to his full energy. With his staff, he has ascended and can now do a little smashing that is severe. This skin looks great and must certainly be hitting very shortly after 8.1’s launch.

Between the end of the season and now, there have been some changes being monumental the game. Those changes have affected the meta a great deal that both professional and queue that is solo will have to approach the overall game with all new strategies to win. Most importantly, the strongest champions in League have shifted as new runes have opened up more playstyles and possibilities.

Although there are so much more viable champions now, we won’t know for sure who the strongest are until players at the top show us how to relax and play them at their potential that is highest. Luckily, however, we can still imagine.

Using broad winrate and playmate data, as well as analyzing the match histories of various pros within the past fourteen days, we can predict which five champions will get some serious stage time when the competitive season begins a week that is next.
